Product and application design
Giving saved ideas somewhere useful to go.
Brand, product design and application development for Cornwall-based Varial, an online place to organise, create and share things found on the web.
The project
What needed to work.
Varial began with a familiar problem: useful things are easy to save and surprisingly difficult to organise into something meaningful. The product work explores how collections, creation and sharing can become one coherent experience.
Context
Finding the real job.
The application needed a flexible identity and an interface capable of handling varied content without feeling chaotic. Early decisions had to work across the mark, palette, interaction patterns and the underlying product structure.
Direction
A system with intent.
Stormy Studios developed a vivid visual system around the Varial mark and translated it into focused mobile interface studies. Clear controls and repeatable patterns give the product room to expand while keeping its core purpose visible.
Delivery
Built to hold together.
The ongoing design and development work has produced a polished product foundation for a small closed beta. It brings brand and application thinking together from the outset rather than applying a visual layer after the system is built.
